Vishnuvardhan is a soldier in the Indian army during World War 2. After being wounded he meets Suhasini who’s working in the hospital where he’s admitted. They fall in love and get a child. However, because of tensions on the border with Pakistan after Indian independence, Vishnuvardhan is not able to spend time with his wife and child. Following tragic events, they lose their son. They try to continue their relationship after this but soon Vishnuvardhan is posted once again when tensions between India and China arise. He is taken prisoner and tortured in a famous scene.
Just when things seem to be getting better, tragedy strikes once again…
