Sujatha is a young reporter who has just joined a newspaper. She is the only woman in the office and so all her male colleagues are excited and keep following her around. Since she is new to the city she is staying with a family friend who advises her to be careful. Soon after joining, the editor of the newspaper asks Sujatha to cover a famous case involving a man called Ravi Varma (Vishnuvardhan) who murdered his wife (Sumalatha). Ravi Varma is going to be killed soon and his appeal has also been rejected by the courts. So the editor thinks it will be a good story if Sujatha can interview Ravi Varma and write a story on it. When Sujatha’s colleagues hear about it they pass some comments about the dead woman saying she used to roam with men and so Ravi Varma was maybe justified for killing her. This upsets Sujatha and makes her more determined to write her story about the murderer. But what is the truth and does Sujatha have any history in this story forms the rest of the movie…
